As a current student of the authour, I find this book to be replete with wonderful readings of the stories of the early Christians and their thoughts of the time. From orthodox readings by Justin Martyr to questionable documents as The Gospel of Thomas, the reader will find a great source of information. The book is best done in a class setting, and even tells you how to write a historiographical essay.
