Paul did not benefit from his wisdom because of his good heart which was one of the good characters he acquired. Paul did not realise that his good character and benevolent personality would make him fall in trouble which ruined his life. In circumstances like those which took place in Paul's life, he would never have thought to abandon his inherent characters for the sake of gaining some benefits. His heart would not allow him to sacrifice his internal kindness to fulfil the definition and the requirements for being wise. It was not easy for Paul to balance between the two extremes and which one to favour because it was not his conscious mind to choose but it was his subconscious mind. Paul got married three times and each ended up with bitter fate and disastrous outcome from which he did not learn to avoid in the next experience.
