They called the name of this book “Loins and Shadows,” so I am not sure where the title “Christopher and his Kind (1929-1939)” came from. It appears to be the 10 years Christopher Isherwood spent in Berlin. He stayed there after the Weimar Republic from 1919 to 1933. But got out just in time.
It is suggested to read like a novel, and true to that plan, there are no parts without titles and no index.
This book allows you to see how his life parallels his written works.
