Norman Rockwell's annual Christmas covers for The Saturday Evening Post were practically a national institution. This album features 50 full-color reproductions of Rockwell's most-beloved holiday paintings, as well as many black and white sketches, selected from every phase of his career and spanning a creative period of some 60 years.
I really enjoyed this book. The pictures are real pretty, and remind me of my childhood.Well worth the price.
Season's greetings

There are various editions of this book, mine is from 1990 but I'm assuming that publishers just rent the plates to print off a new edition every few years. It's an obvious title to publish: who covered the festive season so well, no one better than Norman Rockwell and the fifty odd paintings in this book will give you a warm glow all year round. The selection is pretty impressive, not just Post covers but magazine illustrations, ads (for Parker pens and Plymouth cars) and Hallmark cards. The front of the book has a twenty page essay by the author. Perhaps the best thing about the book is that you can pick up a copy for next to nothing. ***SEE SOME INSIDE PAGES by clicking 'customer images' under the cover.
