Derek would be spending Christmas alone for the first time. It had previously always been a family gathering occasion. Some customs had developed over the years-nothing extraordinary, simply simple things the family did to celebrate Christmas together.

He couldn't help but recall some of those memorable moments as he closed and secured his vehicle door and entered the club. However, he quickly realized there wouldn't be any such memorable occasions this year, and he soon started to feel sorry for himself.

If only the snow had started to fall already, maybe it would lift his spirits.
