One would think that life in Orchard, a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, would be simple and quiet. John Grant-widower, antique shop owner, and publisher of the local newspaper-knows that things aren't always what they seem. As the Christmas season arrives, he once again finds himself in the middle of opportunities and challenges that come with life in this tiny mountaintop town.
