As a teenager Ted was driven from his home in the mountains and subsequently reunited with his mother. Now he's back in Chedwick to enjoy Christmas in Lake Chelan. Tammy works at the local diner and is almost finished with her degree in communication. On her way to work, shortly before Thanksgiving, she spies the helicopter of the boy she'd met as a teenager. He's not been back in years and she's excited to see him again.
