A warm Christmas novel that inspires with a theme of giving and caring for others. Some characters open their minds in the story, changing their attitudes to understand compassion and the needs of those less fortunate. The contemporary Canadian story takes place in Toronto.
Archie Tupper had set a plan years earlier to help others in significant charitable ways, a commitment he pledged with two friends during the Afghanistan War. Through the years, those friends passed away, and Archie also faced other losses, tragically losing his own family.
Rather than harbouring bitterness, Archie turned to spiritual reflection about giving (from Matthew 25: 34-40), and inspiration from the ancient 1885 writings of Tolstoy's Martin the Cobbler to fulfill his earlier commitment to apply kindness and deeds with the support of others.
His passion overflows to many less fortunate, who begin to see the opportunity themselves to become givers rather than receivers in the Christmas season. Seen through the eyes of children, wayward strangers join forces as they discover purpose in their lives by giving of themselves and unite to celebrate with Archie Tupper on Christmas Day.
