In the fall of 1978, Arnie Cunningham is just another hapless teenage misfit until he buys Christine, a dilapidated 1958 Plymouth Fury, and becomes consumed with restoring her to her original condition. As Arnie spends every spare moment working on Christine, he falls under her sinister influence. Soon, Arnie's friends notice a disturbing change in him - he's moody, withdrawn, and increasingly arrogant.

Christine seems to have a malevolent will of her own, and those who cross her path meet with gruesome and mysterious accidents. As the body count rises, Arnie's transformation accelerates, blurring the line between man and machine. His friends must unravel the dark secrets behind Christine's past before she destroys everything and everyone around her.
