Christ Outside His Own Church

By Dean Butler

What happens when a church has everything-except Christ at the center?

The building is beautiful. The seats are filled. The programs are thriving. But is Jesus Christ truly leading His own church?

In Revelation 3:20, Jesus stands at the door and knocks. Those words were addressed to a church that believed it needed nothing, yet Christ saw something terribly wrong. Could the same thing be happening in churches today?

In Christ Outside His Own Church, Christian author Dean Butler takes an honest, Scripture-centered look at the condition of the modern church. Across 30 chapters, he examines what happens when biblical truth gives way to tradition, entertainment replaces sound teaching, popularity becomes more important than obedience, and pastors begin following the desires of people rather than faithfully proclaiming God's Word.

But this book doesn't stop with pastors and congregations. It asks every believer to examine his or her own relationship with Jesus Christ. Are we truly following Him, or have we become comfortable with a form of Christianity that demands little and changes nothing?

From false teaching and spiritual compromise to genuine repentance, faithful preaching, and the purpose of the church, Butler continually brings readers back to the authority of Scripture.

This is not a book written to condemn every church. It is a call to return to the Word of God, to genuine faith, and to complete surrender to Jesus Christ.

Christ is knocking. Are we willing to open the door?
