I wouldn't call myself a student of fashion or anything like that - but I am a fantasy artist keen on costuming, so I'm constantly adding to my reference library. I'm a huge admirer of the Chinese cultures, but it is extremely difficult for me to find a lot of good references of their costumes - so I was delighted to run across this book! The plusses: Several costumes per nationality. Decent photography and layout. Written descriptions of what each nationality wears, each gender (and often age range). The minuses: Some "Engrish" in the translation. Sometimes what they write in the description is not depicted in the photos. Model-poses may show what it would be to "wear" the costume, at the expense of showing what the costume elements are. Overall, I think it's a great inspiration/overview book and am happy to have it in my collection.
