A perfect summer escape!

Ok, I'll admit I root for the underdog (speaking of "dog",what was that mystery meat in Fuchow anyway ?) and that I over-identified with the sidekick girlfriend with a root canal and food fetish, both in process throughout the caper. That plus being delighted to read a "find" from a small publisher really biased me in favor of this book in the very first pages. I loved it! Breezy, funny, suspenseful and quirky...great literature it wasn't. It was, on the other hand, my idea of the perfect escapist, frothy, summer read
