For centuries, the Chimera represented Arezzo and its citizens. The great bronze sculpture symbolizes strength, courage, and grace, and seems to go back to the works of the ancient Etruscan and Greek masters. This volume was born from an ambitious and fascinating project: recreating the original appearance of the Chimera dating back to when, in the fourth century BC, it was placed as a votive gift inside a temple or another religious space. The result of long research, the text is based on an unprecedented approach that includes new studies on colors and technique, also providing information on a hypothetical complex of sculptures that included the Chimera, Pegasus and Bellerophon.
