My son received this book as a Christmas gift. We would read it at bedtime. The first night he wouldn't let me stop and before I knew it we had read 30 pages. He absolutly loved this book. The pictures are great and every other page or so would have a "Did You Know" fact that he would love to hear about. I would definitly recommend this book for any child that loves to learn about factual information.
Good book for first graders

The book is suitable for first graders to learn the basics of the earth. It covers many interesting topics such as the solar system, the structures of the earth, volcanos, earthquakes, land and water, weather, animals and plants, etc. Young readers can quickly get into it and stay in it. The topics are presented in an easy-to-understand way. The only complaint I have about this book (for now) is that it says Pluto is a planet. Even though some scientists still think it is a planet, it is widely accepted that it does not belong to the group of planets of the sun. Another object, called Eris (which also travels around the sun) is 27% larger than Pluto. This fact should be at least mentioned in this book. Overall, the book is well written, and can be recommended to elementary school students.
