The book is an interactive book to read and answer on the spaces provided using the reading strategies charts, pre {before} and post {after} reading activities, using the reading strategies to help read in English and comprehend the stories The stories based on the Taino Indian Culture in the Carribean with the reading strategies, which are tools used by most native English readers to become good readers. "Learn and understand English as you READ"...from the familiar to the unfamiliar text, from concrete to the abstract concepts, by activating the background knowledge we have within. Stories are based on Tales from the Indian Taino's culture, customs and traditions are fun to read as the reader learns about the Indian culture. The main focus placed on limited English speakers learning to read by using the tools of the Reading Strategies, which are detailed. Intentionally, the vocabulary is simple for the limited English speakers, but also reinforces the bilingual learners as well. It creates new vocabulary by using content clues for the English learners. The reading strategies provides a chart for each story: BEFORE (Pre reading) AND AFTER (Post reading).
