Children Literature: It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.

Literature for children and young people has already created a whole library and its literary and aesthetic assets have conveyed to children entertainment, moral and educational values.
This literature has its genesis, like all cultured literature, in popular folklore, in folklore for little ones, in such creations as fairy tales, legends, folk songs for little ones, toy songs, and songs of the weather, riddles, and various lyrical songs. Our creators of cultured literature, relying on them, from folklore did not mechanically copy themes, and fables for their creations were not influenced by external passages, but aimed at the popular spirit of creativity, artistic sensibility, the way of singing, the magic of confession.
Children's literature shaped its tradition as didactic literature with a moralizing spirit. The didactic-religious parts for children start from the word "Christian Doctrine" by Lek? Matr?nga (1592), which served to teach religion to the children of the villages of Arb?re. It contains the poem "Soulful Song", which was addressed not only to children but also to adults. Further, a whole didactical literature for children was born and developed, which includes textbooks and primers, where the first creations for children (stories and poems) were published, i.e. the embryos of children's fiction. For this reason, in its beginnings, genuine artistic literature for children cannot be separated from didactic-religious and school-teaching literature.
