Child of the Wilderness: The Trials

Child of the Wilderness: The Trials Life was hard for Jimmy Lee Shannon living in the mountains. He had run away from home when he was ten after being accused of stealing a gold medallion and lying to his parents. At first his life on the run consisted of eating raw meat and wild vegetables whenever he was able to find some or snare a rabbit and find a creek with clear running water. During the more than five years of living alone with his wolf (Bear) he had many fights with wild animals. He also learned to speak the language of the Lakota tribe, while doing so he all but forgot the English language. During his fifteenth year two men, a professor of archaeology and his assistant entered Shannon's valley and was confronted by Jimmy and his wolf, he motioned for them to leave. The two men went to the sheriff's office and told Sheriff Eva Banks what had happened and showed her a video of the confrontation. In late September of that year three men entered the valley to pan for gold, a gun fight broke out which left one man dead and two wounded. Now the hunt was on, during the next two years there would be a lot of chaos of fights with wild animals, hospital stays, and finally the trial.
