The July 4th weekend is quickly approaching, and Remi Anne is settling in as a new mother. Life has taken a fast change from college to motherhood. But she will not let that stop her as she plans a happy life for her small family in a quiet part of Chicago, well quiet as Chicago can be.
She never expected the terrifying changes that would happen to her family when her husband, Glen, returned home from work but not before being ambushed by a homeless man on the subway. Tired and not feeling overtly well after the attack. Glen cuts his night short and goes to bed.
Unaware that Glen's injury from the attack was more serious than just a scratch. Remi slips off to change and settle her newborn down for the night. Little did she know that in a few short hours her world would plunge into terror as she tries to protect herself and her daughter from the man she loved and the monster that he had become while he slept.
The outside world has changed as well. The streets of Chicago usually pulsating with life twenty-four hours a day was now dark and filled with walking horror.
With no way of escape, Remi must fight to keep her child from harm. Even if it lives within the walls of their tiny home.
