Sam Royce stepped through her front door. "You didn't answer when I knocked. I heard what happened. Your aunt being killed. I just wanted to see if you were okay." "I'm fine." She brushed her hair back. "Comforting the child?" She remembered the motel last night and his guilt at making love to her. "I'm busy." "A civil word would be nice."
