Check Your Six tells the story of two Naval recruits, Davis and Foster, and how their paths have crossed both in the past and currently at boot camp. The story is told in alternating voices - each chapter is from a different character's perspective. Davis and Foster first encountered each other in high school, and by chance, are now attending the same naval boot camp. Themes of adolescent crushes, sexual identity crises, homophobia, and a military lifestyle are interwoven throughout the manuscript.
