Excellent Book!

The book Chasing the Falconers is a very good book. The first page I read hooked me into it, and I wanted to keep reading until I finished it! The two protagonists in this book are a very brave boy named Aiden and a confident, strong girl named Meg. Whenever something comes in their way, they just stick together and push past it.The book is about two people who are in a juvenile jail called Sunnydale Farm because the government thinks their parents helped terroists. But one day they escape and come up with a plan to prove their parents innocent-if the cops don't find them first. The type of reader that should read this book is a reader who likes books with lots of adventure. I have never read anything by Gordon Korman, so I was very surprised when I found out how good of a writer he is. I am definitely reading the rest of the On the Run series.

The Fugitive...for kids!

Think Harrison Ford in the movie version of the "Fugutive" then change the main characters to two adolescents and you've got Gordon Korman's On the Run series. Action, adventure and lots of ingenuity go in to this great beginning. The end leaves you wanting to grab book #2 and keep reading about Aiden's and Meg's adventures "on the run." Highly recommended for upper elementary and middle school readers!

Exciting first book in a new Gordon Korman adventure series.

This is the first book in the On the Run series by Gordon Korman, about two young runaway siblings who are determined to find the evidence necessary to free their parents, who have been sentenced to life in prison for the crime of treason. Fifteen-year-old Aiden Falconer and his little sister, eleven-year-old Meg, had perfectly ordinary lives. Then the unbelievable happened. Their parents, boring college professors, were accused of aiding terrorists, and were convicted of treason against the United States government. Aiden and Meg know the parents couldn't have done such a terrible thing, but the one man that could prove their innocence has disappeared. And Aiden and Meg are trapped at Sunnydale Farm, a juvenile detention center, unable to do anything. But when a fire at the farm gives Aiden and Meg the chance to escape, they take it. They decide they will not stop until the find the man who could free their parents. But there are many dangers for them, both from natural elements and the police who are searching for them. I really enjoyed Gordon Korman's previous adventure trilogies, and this new series is off to a great start. Aiden and Meg are sympathetic characters that will keep kids reading to find out if their quest is successful. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoyed previous adventure stories by Gordon Korman, as well as new readers who enjoy these types of books. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.

Fast paced and addictive

I'm 15 years old, and picked this book up, along with every other Gordan Korman title I could find, at the 2005 Power of the Pen state finals in Wooster, Ohio. This is because I was receiveing the "Promising Young Talent Award" from none other than Mr. Korman himself. I dived into this book, and I never resurfaced. That's the greatest (and also the worst)thing about this book. It's addictive. Yet, at the same time, its very short. I guess, its a harmless thing, because thats what all authors want to accomplish. They want to hook their readers. I read the entire book without stopping, and it only took a couple hours. The characters are likeable and are very three dimensional. The dialogue and story is intelligent and sprinkled with wit. This is a great read.

on the run

Have you ever been on the run from the cops, well Meg and Aiden Falconer have and it will be that way for a while. Meg and Aiden were put into a correctional facility called Sunnydale farm and they dont know why, then they see their parents on the news and the are in jail for treason. When they escape the race is on to find a measly picture to prove their parents inocence. This book is filled with action and promblems the two have to solve. This is a great book, and every one should should read Casing The Falconers.
