Chasing My Dream: An African Immigrant Story in America

By Komi Afetse

What if your biggest limitations were your greatest opportunities?

Born in Togo, West Africa, Komi Afetse arrived in the United States with $165, three jeans, and a dream. He didn't speak English. He had no connections. But he had something powerful: an unbreakable belief in himself.

In Chasing My Dream, Komi shares his gripping immigrant journey from poverty to becoming a U.S. Army Officer and motivational figure. With honesty and heart, he reveals how he overcame rejection, homelessness, low-wage jobs, and cultural barriers through resilience, mindset, and faith.

Whether you're an immigrant, student, veteran, or dreamer, this book is a wake-up call to stop settling and start believing.
