This is the story of three families: The Parks Family, The Reynolds Family and The Atkinson Family. They intermingled, they formed friendships, and they had each other's back - through good times and bad times.

Thomas and Ruthie met one another years ago in Birmingham, Alabama. Coincidentally, both of their families migrated to Detroit, Michigan with desires of having a better life. The automotive industry was the ideal occupation to make a decent living. Miraculously, Thomas and Ruthie found a way to keep in contact with one another. By doing so, the rest was history. They got married and had four children.

Thomas wanted to keep his two sons from falling victim to the mean streets of Detroit. He did a good job until son Parcel became tempted.
