This is the story about why the writer moved to China in 1986 to teach and why she stayed on until even now in 2011. It's about her experiences and challenges while living there; a choice she made after visiting China in 1982, 1983 and 1984, the latter two trips on women's bicycle tours. Many times it is a comparison between one of her students and the writer's life, not only geographically world's apart, but also so different in their habits and customs. It's about a dragon; was she chasing it or was it really chasing her? Did it catch her or did she catch it?
