Nothing can come between these siblings. Not even murder.
What starts as a perfectly normal trip to the movies for siblings Chase and Charlie Chapman soon turns into a nightmare when a man is brutally killed at the theater. And when the lights come up, it is Chase who is holding the murder weapon. In a startlingly fast, rash decision by the local police, he is deemed "criminally insane" and sent to the ominous Grey's Institute of Mental Health, a not-so-modern-day insane asylum on the outskirts of town. And as far as everyone else involved is concerned, that is where he will rot. Charlie, though, won't give up so easily. She knows her brother is innocent and she will stop at nothing to prove it. Desperate for answers, she masquerades as a patient and infiltrates the asylum with the help of a kind, handsome custodian and soon discovers that nothing - and no one - is what it seems. Armed with only her wits, her guts, and her unflagging loyalty, Charlie must fight her way through a dizzying maze of lies and manipulation to expose, not just the truth about her brother, but a much darker, much more sinister truth about the crime he didn't commit and the hellish institution that has no right to hold him.
