For Bible believing Christians

This book is very explanatory for Christians who care what secular music their children listen to. The reviews about it condemning a song because of lyrics of the "real world" or "a beer" is cavil. The book does not disparage the artists but instead gives you a positive view and negative view and lets you make your own decisions of whether you want your children to hear the negative aspects of the albums. It does give a final review of what they "the writer" deems Godly, but the reason they give positive and negative is so you can make your own choices. I would cogitate their sentiments considering the writers background in family development and counseling. I think the previous critics that reviewed this book were convicted and getting upset because they realized the music they were listening to, is drivel and vile. Amy Grant only, how farcical. There are over 20,000 Christian albums out there resembling musically all groups, ranging from groups like Metallica, Tesla, Matchbox 20, 9 inch nails, suicide tendencies, Rascal Flats, Bob Dylan, Kid Rock and any other genre you may like, there is a Christian alternative for any of them and also Christian groups who have no resemblance to any secular group. In fact, some of the biggest names in music are Christian like P.O.D, Jars of Clay, Kirk Franklin, Amy Grant, Larry Norman and many more. Sorry for my digression, I will now get back to the critique of the book. I personally wish they would come out with this book every few years so parents who actually try and help monitor their kids music can know what their kids are listening to. I personally think there isn't any reason to stray from Christian music but this book is great for those who want to know which secular artists are not vulgar or impious. Rev. Bill <

I wish I had this book before I got certain games & music.

If I had read this book before buying some of the stuff my kids have I would of been able to get exactly what I wanted them to see before their young minds got warped with so much violence. Since Littleton, CO, I really want to be aware of what is going on in music, entertainment, tv, videos, games, computers, etc. This book helps me know what the product is all about before I buy for them, and helps me make a good judgment before I lay out the big bucks.
