Most books about process theology are harder to understand than Hartshorne (who is actually remarkably easy to understand and always clear). This book is an absolute delight to read because it is a kind of short overview and kind of brings it all together, in several senses. If you are looking for an introduction which requires only a slight familiarity with philosophical or theological terminology this would be a good one. If you want a book that will stimulate you intellectually while making your heart soar, this is a great one. Metaphysics rarely shows you a God that you can care about, be emotionally involved with. This vision will break your heart. Imagine having a God for whom you can have compassion, a God that will persuade you to love others without a threat or a bribe. This book, and Hartshorne, makes a lot of what Jesus taught seem reasonable, almost obvious. If you ever wondered why God wants you to love him with your whole heart, or to love others as yourself, this book is for you. If you are about to die, this might make a good book to be last one you ever read. Yours in Christ...
