Charametrics describes a method for measuring character. We use metrics in every phase of our life for descriptions and control--age, weight, height, speed, altitude, temperature--so there is a need to add "character" to our database.Benefits of character measurement are twofold: the metrics allow us to identify traits of other people that make a difference to us and those that don't really matter. It strengthens our appreciation of people, which is of paramount importance. The second feature allows us to take inventory of our own characteristics so we have the opportunity to make positive adjustments. We may need to change our attitude about a subject--like we do our eating habits--to control blood pressure. It is generally assumed that positive thinking promotes a healthy lifestyle. The author employed a scientific model in defense analysis based on probability theory with results portrayed on the bell-shaped curve. He used the scientific-based model to visualize character traits in order to separate the important from the trivia. Each user can formulate preferred elements to be included in the measurement criteria and the limits for each.
