The main objective of this research is to establish a relationship between the characteristic traits of entrepreneurs in the Southern Cameroons region and the performance of entrepreneurial organisations. The research aims to identify the characteristic factors that drive a particular individual to engage in entrepreneurial activities, whilst also examining whether, in their own view, these activities are likely to be sustainable in the long term. The results presented highlight the characteristics of the respondents and their role in understanding the concept of performance in their entrepreneurial activities. The socio-cultural factors identified as being associated with ethnic entrepreneurship are: the degree of individualism and collectivism within the ethnic group, the degree of masculinity or femininity, short-term or long-term orientation, hierarchical distance, uncertainty management, motivations for starting a business, level of education, the existence of social networks, the availability of business opportunities, seizing opportunities and, above all, support.
