This is a why-choose romance novel where two of the main female character's boyfriends are also boyfriends. The main male characters have tragic backgrounds that make them morally gray enough to be mercenaries.

Carley attempts suicide after the deaths of her father and twin brother. She leaves with her mother so that Carley's mental health can improve. When she returns to her hometown for college, her best friends are no longer boys, but dangerous men. As sweet as she is, she has the same training her boys do and can protect herself. She has to reclaim her boys, and they have to learn about the new her, though they have not loved another woman besides her. Carley is their obsession.

Now she has returned to find the five boys she loves are now dangerous men. But even mercenaries need someone to kiss their boo-boos. Enemies are a constant threat, so they need to bring this fiery woman to C.H.A.O.S. for her protection. Little do they realize she doesn't need their protection because the same organization that trained them, trained her.

The boys have enemies, starting with Carley's ex-boyfriend, whose older brother they killed. This enemy wants Carley back, and he has the help of someone close to the mercenary guild/family to do so. Who will win, the gang leader or the mercenaries?

Betrayal, surprises, and death will throw everything into chaos.
