This thesis covers the development of technical education from its beginnings in 1928 to the merging of the two subjects. The theoretical foundations of electrical engineering are defined and the history of electricity and its impact on society are explained. The practical implementation of this topic in technical education is also described. A qualitative study revealed that the merger of the two subjects has led to the electrical engineering content being increasingly neglected. Only one piece of work is produced per school year in the 7th and 8th grades, and the children's interest in this topic is described as consistent, even though electrical engineering is becoming increasingly important.
