Change the World One Neighbor at a Time

Reading headline after headline from around the world can put a damper on your day. Violence and death seem only to escalate. Crimes against children, especially those committed by their own parents, cause us to question the sanity of the world. Who are these people? We live in a time when a mother's love is not guaranteed, no one would give you the shirt off their back, and going next door to borrow a cup of sugar sounds like a story from days long gone. What has happened to our society? Where is humanity headed? We have forgotten, among other commandments, the two that Jesus, Himself, deemed to be greatest: "Love the Lord your God... [and] ...Love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:30,31). We are all to love God and those we share the earth. Love is the healing balm this world needs. . We can change the world one neighbor at a time.
