Going Green starter book

This is a great little book for the beginning "Greener". It has terrific ideas that people of all ages can do to help the environment. Things as simple as turning off the water while brushing your teeth, to a page stuck together-----but I don't want to ruin the surprise. This book would be a great little gift for the hostess, the kids you haven't seen in a while, your mom, your grandma and just anyone you would like to give a little something. A little early to think of Christmas, but this would be an ideal stocking stuffer or Secret Santa. Highly recommend.

TEN Star wonder.....Please buy this book...pass it on

The book arrived just as the news was doing a piece on a man who had caught a big carp that had a cell phone in its stomach. And sure enough 13 has to do with cell phones and how many are thrown away rather than recycled. Action 16 is something we started doing when we set aside a pretty coin box where we place all the loose change we have, which when full is used to either fund something with Heifer International or a local need. Action 49 is excellent because it lists ALL the groups in the book be it water, energy, soil, hunger, and other green issues. Also like the book because its action oriented, rather than page after page of nagging suggestions. Action 8 is about bath water and it reminded me of stories my grandmothers told which we passed on to out kids, where when you run a bath, have the least dirty person bathe first with the dirtiest person bathing last. This way the water get used more wisely. And also saves money on filling the bath tub over and over. Will not tell you all the other (often surprising) ideas the book has, since I think it such a great book...that I want you to not only buy the book....but donate to the local library so hundreds or maybe even thousands more people can learn and thus recycle the book.

A book of kind reminders

This is a book that reminds us of 50 simple things that we can do to make a huge difference in the world, and that we may already know but don't do enough. Every page is one topic with simple graphics that reinforce the clear message The end of the book is a long list of websites that we could visit for help or more information to do these 50 simple things. For example, Action 13 - Recycle Your Cell Phone. "There are 120 million cell phones thrown away in the United States every year. That's a hell of a lot of annoying ringtones, and worse it equates to 65,000 tons of landfill waste.......... Go to http:recyclemycellphone.org to send in your phone for recycling, or check out http://earth911.org and enter your zip code to find a recycling drop off point near you." So, this is a book full of kind reminders and lots of good resources that could help us "want to do good things" and "know how."

Everyone should own this book & share it with their neighbors!

This book is just awesome, if I could give it more stars I would. In my opinion every single person should read this book. It is easy to read and easy to do! As the title says, "We are what we do", small actions we can take each day to make a BIG change in our world and the world left to our children. If you just do one thing a day from this book you will make a huge difference. We are what we do is a non-profit movement and this book is a must have for everyone on the planet. It gives you great ideas and information on how things you might not think about affect the world we live in. This book is a simple book with every day actions we can all easily take and that we all can do. Most of the things you can do starting today won't cost you a penny. I urge you to buy this book for yourself and everyone you know. Make sure to have your children read it and use it to bring your family closer together and to make the world a better place. Very well done.
