A young woman in China, named Chang E, drinks her husband's elixir for immortality and is banished to the moon. There she learns to mix the Immortality Potion from the Hare who lives on the Moon Chang E, works hard, and yet grows lonely for her husband, Hou Yi, who lives in the Palace of the Sun. The Queen Mother of the West, seeing their constant love, relents and allows them to meet at the Full Moon each month. In the autumn of each year we celebrate their story. Children and young women ask Chang E to deliver their messages and wishes. Adoptees send messages of Love to their birth families.
