Devondra Banks, a native Houstonian, is an author, poet, music educator, and the host of the inspirational podcast; Strands of Pearls. She has spent the past decade of her life educating, empowering, and inspiring children who attend Title 1 schools in low-income areas. Devondra has written and published Gems and Debris; a book of poetry that tells a lyrical story of life, loss, love, and logic. Many of her poems have been set to choral music by composers and performed by ensembles such as Arkansas Tech University Choir, Florida State University Choirs, and Cantus.
