Angel of God?

This is a fantasy novel telling the story of the angel Chamiel. He lives in the archangel Michael's Court. The story covers Chamiel's life from the carefree days of his youth to the taking up of his official duties as a Messenger of the Lord. More broadly this is the Biblical story from the rebellion of Satan to the temptation of Adam and Eve. It is important to note that Pearson is interested in creating a rich fantasy world, rather than writing a strictly correct theological treatise, thus the book is quite Biblically unorthodox in several respects. To quote one minor variation Satan goes by the name Zareal before his fall, but there are some much bigger variations which I do not want to explain for the sake of spoiling the book by saying too much. I am not sure exactly what audience the novel is aimed at. In taking this unorthodox path Pearson risks offending Christians, but then the book may be too 'religious' for atheists. As an ex-Christian I found the novel interesting enough to entertain me for the few of hours it took to read.
