Challenging the Actors 2.0: a comedy for students in eleven scenes to showcase comic characterizations and acting styles

This one-act comedy involves two young girls with a remote control giving orders to a company of actors in an "inter-active" cable program. From Greek tragedy through Shakespeare and television melodrama, a company of 14 actors is challenged to weave a story in nine scenes with the acting style changing as the story advances. Additional "acting styles" include Commedia dell'arte, Tennessee Williams-like American drama, 1950's sci fi movies, 21st century dystopian dramas and American reality television shows. Written to be an exercise for acting classes, it can serve students from middle school age through college. The 31 roles on this comedy can be played by a company of 16 acting students. However, the roles can also be split up to involve almost twice that number of students.Casting requirements: 16 Players (7 Female / 5 Male / 4 Male or Female.) Running time is approximately 1 hour.
