This is a good, down-to-earth book for chain drive designers. Much helpful information is given about most drive situations that might arise, and numerous formulas are provided to minimize the algegra and trigonometry might otherwise be required. I have personally checked many of the formulas in it, and have not found any errors (unusual in a technical book). The book is well organized. The biggest weakness I have found is that terms within formulas are not clearly defined in close proximity to the formulas themselves, and it sometimes takes a while to read enough text to find the definitions you need. All in all, though, I don't think you will find a better book on the subject.
