Book Overview

Certification Exam Review for the Pharmacy Technician has one purpose--to aid readers in successfully passing the PTCB national certification exam on the first attempt. Unlike other PTCB study guides, Certification Exam Review for the Pharmacy Technician weights its content to precisely reflect the PTCB's exam weightings, and carefully avoids distracting material not covered on the exam. The Third Edition contains nine all-new chapters that match the new exam blueprint. The authors present five complete practice exams, each with 90 multiple-choice questions designed to closely replicate the actual three-hour PTCB exam experience. All answers are provided, along with clearly explained rationales for each. To provide even more practice, the book also contains three math and two trade/generic classification tests. KEY TOPICS: Getting Certified; Pharmacology for the Pharmacy Technician; Pharmacy Laws and Regulations; Sterile and Non-Sterile Compounding; Medication Safety; Pharmacy Quality Assurance; Medication Order Entry and Fill Process; Pharmacy Inventory Management; Pharmacy Billing and Reimbursement; Pharmacy Information Systems Usage and Applications; Review of Pharmacy Calculations; Top 200 Drugs; Practice Certification Exam I; Practice Certification Exam II; Practice Certification Exam III; Practice Certification Exam IV; Practice Certification Exam V; Math Practice Test I; Math Practice Test II; Math Practice Test III; Trade/Generic/Classification Practice Test I; Trade/Generic/Classification Practice Test II. Outstanding study guide... everything you need to know is in it!

This book includes everything you need to know for the PTCB exam and keeps it straight to the point. They don't bury you in a bunch of irrelevant crap like some other books I checked out first. I studied the book for a max of two hours before the exam and passed with flying colors. I'm glad I did my research before deciding to go with this book- I was quite pleased with the results!

Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam Review PTCB Book

This is a great book for someone who is planning on taking the PTCB. It does a wonderful job of preparing you. It makes things very simple and has correct information in the book. I would recommend also purchasing the book from this author that includes the pharmacy calculations. It makes passing the test easy and takes you through step by step. A++++ Books. I firmly believe anyone can pass the PTCB just by studying these books.

PTCB Exam Review

I train pharmacy technicians, and this is the best, most concise review book I have seen. Almost everything on the test is covered here.

An excellent overview

There is a very good reason this series is endorsed by the NPTA. Of the six or so books that I used to study for the exam, this was the most helpful by far. It reviews every topic on the exam, and is a great starting place to see what you need more work on. This is the book that got me a passing score on the exam, and I don't really think I can give it higher praise than that.

Great workbook

This book is a great study guide to prepare for the certification exam. The book is easy to read and it leaves out all the fluff that is in the other study books. After reading and doing the practice exams I found what my weaknesses were and was able to go back to my schoolbooks to strengthen those areas. I took the certification exam this month (March) and think I did fine; there are a lot of math questions in the exam and wish I spent more time in that area. If I were to do this all over I would recommend buying Calculations: The pharmacy technician series.
