"The Lord commanded Joseph Smith to leave for Rocky Mountains aka Manitou Colorado June 22, 1844" if the lords gives an order with extreme emphases. Joseph was not a man who would ignore, or worse argue. He left for Manitou close to that minute. His body guard and body double took his stead and became him; that was who was killed. The Journey from June 1 to 22, is as important a situation as any major sequences of days in the entire history of Monotheism. The events in the life of Joseph Smith are beyond measure important to study. Forget about the Book of Mormon, and the L.D.S. faith. They are good but the life and times of Joseph Smith are what are beyond measure important. Joseph was ordered to leave, and he ordered all present to remain absolutely silent for the rest of their lives of the true events of that night, and everything which followed. He knew what he was asking, but he also knew the Lord had a plan, and his followers had to follow said plan to the letter. God gave an order, Joseph followed without question. He repeated the 40 days and 40 nights of Jesus's wonderings in the desert, in this case Kansas. Making his way to Manitou. Why their, because by legend, Manitou Springs Colorado has an immortal living in the city which was talked about in the Bible. Joseph under a different name and he needed to interact and achieve a goal together.
