In August 1990, Iraq invaded Kuwait, trapping Indian nationals in a war zone overnight. This led to history's largest civilian evacuation, recognised by Guinness World Records-rescuing over 170,000 Indian nationals through efforts of Government of India and Owners of M V Safeer.
The documentary Mission Safeer: 37 Days to Freedom showed how it saved 722 souls. This book tells the story of over 170,000 souls for the first time.
