Anthropologists and family historians alike recognize cemeteries as important research sites to gather data. Unfortunately, many cemeteries are only partially transcribed, while others have not been documented at all. The author has traveled throughout four counties in Southeastern Missouri and Southwestern Illinois and photographed over five thousand burials located within ten Catholic Cemeteries.Stricklin offers readers access to this on-going research by providing a two-part published index to all ten cemeteries and instructions on how to access these archived images which have been donated to the Allen County Public Library. The first section provides alphabetical arrangement of interments by surname in each of the ten cemeteries, while the second section lists all burials together and is alphabetized by the deceased's surname. Both indexes provide the CD number where the photographs are stored so that those images can be accessed and utilized by other researchers.
