This is a story about Catherine, a young girl from a remote area in Sierra Leone. The fourteenth and last child of her parents. It tells of her life from when she was seven years old and moves to Bo, a regional city, to fulfil her dreams of being educated to an early marriage and drudgery and then escaping the country as it descends into civil war. We follow her on her adventures and challenges from when she and her family are refugees in Ghana to her new life in London.
