Twelve-year-old baseball player, Babe, is mysteriously coached, on and off the field, by a 19th-century major league ballplayer. There's lots of baseball action in this middle-grade mystery novel, but bigger issues, too, like bullying, and having a friend's back no matter what. While Catcher in the Sky is fiction, it is inspired by fact. The author's great-grandfather was an MLB major league catcher for many teams, including New York and Boston.
