Neil Ker's catalogue has been unavailable for more than a decade; it is here reissued with the supplement prepared by Ker himself and originally published in Anglo-Saxon England, Volume 5. The work describes all manuscripts written earlier than c1200 in which there is any writing in the vernacular, with the description of cartularies and single-sheet documents. There are full descriptions of the 200 principal manuscripts and brief descriptions of about the same number of manuscripts in which Anglo-Saxon occurs in the form of short notes, glosses, and scribbles. An appendix includes manuscripts written in Anglo-Saxon by continental scribes.
