Book Overview

A band of fugitive Christians is on the run. Their only escape route takes them to an abandoned Catholic church in the mountains. Winter is coming fast. Provisions are dwindling. And the resistance leader who is supposed to guide them across the border to safety is now missing. Can they get away before government agents close in?

The fugitives face hard questions. Ultimately, each must make a choice. And Death wants the last word about all of it.

A suspenseful novel of persecution and suffering, Into the Catacombs takes an unflinching look at what it means to live the Christian faith in an adversarial world.

Catacombs

I think that Catacombs is an awsome book. It is action packed and a real role-model. This book is about a group of christians who are trying to escape because being a christian was not allowed. They are living in a church and trying to survive from so many things. I think that you should read this because it shows how christains suffered back then and what they overcame and how god can use you.

An Opened Window

This book opened up entirely new thoughts for me. The characters and their individual struggles touched my heart as I sought my soul for what they had- unfailing devotion and love for their God. I was nearly moved to tears by the soulful accounts of this book. A must read for the modern Christian

Gripping!

I have both acted and directed this story and have been moved by it for over 15 years now. I am glad to see that Paul has put this into novel form. Please read this book or see the play. Everyone who has ever read the script or seen the play or read the book have been touched and challenged by its message. Before there was Left Behind, there was Catacombs and in the end there will always be Christ!

Catacombs is my all-time favorite book!

Catacombs is my favorite because Paul McCusker's use of very descriptive language keeps you gripped into the story. It also keeps you guessing about what will happen next. This book is a really good edge-of-your-seat adventure, with deep reflection on faith, hope, and love. Very good book. Five or more stars.

Your faith can truely mean life or death.

Catacombs is truely a dramatic event. Not for the faint at heart. An adaptation of McCusker's play of the same name, the characters and storyline are well written, you get caught up in the struggle that they face. I recommend this book over and over.
