Catacombs, book 1

I enjoyed this book a great deal. The main characters were well defined, with strengths that they had to acknowlege and weaknesses they had to work with others to overcome. The story had enough facts to create a framework and enough fantasty to lose yourself in. The action had hints of violence, but it was not overly graphic. The themes of family, loss, overcoming advesity and history (especially when history is written by the victor) were sound and relevant to the adolescent and adult reader.
