In the first story, "Leon the Lying Lion," a popular African savannah resident tells incredible tales. After they tire of his falsehoods, Leon must lead the animals to a magical oasis. Will they find the oasis, or will Leon be looking to leave town?

In the second story, a rhyme, "Simon the Cat and Bill the Rat with the Cricket Bat," Simon the Cat fears Bill the Rat and his cricket bat, but he refuses to live in fear. He works hard to overcome his worries and defends himself against Bill when the time comes. Simon and Bill unexpectedly become friends as Simon learns that strength and friendship can overcome fear.

In the third story, also a rhyme, "Tara the Tiger and her Terribly Terrific Toys," Tara the tiger likes toys, but her collection is terrible. Tara loves playing with her toys, even when other animals mock her. She learns to embrace what makes her happy, even if they're not flawless or popular.
