In 2013, my mother became the secretary of the same church her father once pastored in a valley of rural Pennsylvania. Each month, she writes a short devotional for the church's newsletter. She never expressed much confidence in her writing, but what she created was an honest record of a woman wrestling with faith during the ups and downs of life while never losing hope in Christ. She created something uniquely hers, with the humor of a single country girl from PA, the blunt honesty of a divorced wife from NJ, and the mischief of a PK. Oh, and there's cats... so many cats.
