Cast a Long Shadow

By Kwen D Griffeth

A former rodeo star turned reluctant sheriff hunts his father's killers and collides with the cartel in this modern western crime thriller packed with small town grit, lone-wolf justice, and the heavy burden of a family legacy.

He'll earn his name one bullet at a time

Star high school athlete and pro-rodeo circuit rider "Bad Bobby" Trent lives an unencumbered life. His concentration lasts no more than eight seconds--the time required to ride a bull and win.

But when his father, the legendary sheriff of Lodge Pole County, is gunned down in a roadside ambush, he abandons his saddle for the badge. The only problem? He doesn't have a clue what he's doing.

Joining forces with his Cheyenne blood brother, Lucas Black Kettle, to find the killer, he's quickly thrust into a hornet's nest of deadly heroin and cartel hitmen.

As the investigation puts a target on his back, sordid rumours suggest that the former sheriff was dirty, paid off by unknown forces. Bobby will risk everything to defend his father's name, even if it sends him to an early grave...

Praise for the Big Sky Series:

★★★★★ A contemporary Wild West story... interesting, exciting, and wonderfully engrossing

★★★★★ The descriptions of Montana scenery are vivid, the action scenes are realistic, none of that superhero stuff here

★★★★★ Lots of action, mystery and romance... hard to put down

★★★★★ A fantastic western mystery... reminded me of Longmire

★★★★★ Very satisfying... the Big Sky Country of Montana is somehow another character in these stories

★★★★★ A cast of characters as good as the David Wolf series
